Day 1: Marrakech - Skoura - Dades Gorges


We will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech and take you across the stunning Tizi N' Tichka pass into the High Atlas Mountains. We drive past little villages and waterfalls, marveling at the alpine scenery's ever-changing terrain and colors. Before continuing on the route to Ait Ben Haddou in the Ounila Valley, we'll stop for a cup of cool mint tea. We explore Morocco's most famous Kasbah, meandering through its twisting lanes and taking in the awe-inspiring vistas of the Atlas Mountains. Then we go through Ouarzazate to the famed Valley of Roses and Dades Valley, arriving in time to see the sunset at the Dades Gorges. We'll have supper and spend the night in a local hotel.


Day 2: Dades Gorges - Todra Gorges - Merzouga desert


Following breakfast, we'll go for a stroll in the Dades Gorges. Then we continue on the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through Tinghir village. We arrive in time for lunch in the Todra Gorges. Then, via Erfoud and Rissani, we travel to Merzouga. Arriving just before dark, go by camel for the Erg Chebbi Dunes, where you will spend a wonderful night in a Berber tent. You will dine under a starry sky to the rhythm of drums and music from southern Morocco's Berbers and Touaregs.


Day 3: Merzouga desert


We rise early to witness the dawn from the crest of a high dune overlooking the Algerian border. After a Berber breakfast, we return to camp and ride your camel back to your accommodation in Merzouga. Today, we're going to tour the Merzouga region via 4x4. We'll take the same route as the renowned Paris-Dakar Rally, stopping at a cave to see how locals harvest fossils from the earth's core. This night, we stay at the Merzouga hotel.


Day 4: Merzouga desert - Ouarzazate


Today, we travel to Khamlia village, where indigenous people from black Africa continue to perform their musical traditions. Then we drive to Dnit Srji Lake, a renowned bird viewing location noted for its pink flamingos, and then to Rissani, Morocco's historic commercial capital, from where caravans depart and where a market known for the bartering of donkeys and Berber remedies takes place. Lunch will feature Berber pizza. Then we travel to Ouarzazate, going via the town of Nakob and the Draa Valley, with a stop for tea in Agdz. Spend your final night in a traditional riad.


Day 5: Ouarzazate - Marrakech


After breakfast, we'll visit the town of Ouarzazate, the Taourirt Kasbah, and the Atlas Studios, Africa's largest and most famous film studio. Return to the road and drive to the Fint Oasis before returning to Marrakech over the steep Tizi-n-Tichka pass.
